FAQs

Miami Yacht Charter FAQ

Please reach us at contact@ycn.miami if you cannot find an answer to your question.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht in Miami for a day?

Day-charter prices in Miami vary by yacht size. As a general guide, a 4-hour charter, our minimum, runs from roughly $1,500 on smaller yachts to $5,000 or more on mid-size and larger yachts, with 70ft-plus yachts and superyachts higher. A full 8-hour day is roughly double the 4-hour rate. Each charter includes a licensed captain and crew, fuel, and onboard essentials. Crew gratuity (10 to 20 percent) is separate and paid to the crew. A $1,000 deposit secures your date, with the balance due 72 hours before departure. Contact us for an exact quote on the yacht and date you want.

How much does the average yacht charter cost in Miami?

Most Miami charters are 4-hour outings on a 50 to 70 foot yacht, which generally land in the $3,000 to $5,000 range. Smaller boats start lower and larger yachts cost more. Gratuity (10 to 20 percent) and any add-ons like catering or water toys are separate. We offer fixed, transparent pricing and match you to the right yacht for your group and budget. Reach out for a quote.

How much does it cost to charter a 100ft yacht for a week?

A weekly charter on a 100-foot yacht typically ranges from about $40,000 to $120,000 or more, depending on the yacht and the season. On multi-day charters we collect a 35 percent APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) for fuel, docking, meals, and beverages; any unused funds are refunded or applied to crew gratuity. A full professional crew is included. If chartering to the Bahamas, every guest needs a valid passport. Contact us for availability and a tailored quote.

What's the process to book?

To secure your yacht charter, $1,000 of the total cost is required at the time of booking to reserve. The remaining balance is due 72 hours prior to departure.

What is the minimum rental period for a boat charter?

Our minimum rental period is 4 hours. Additional hours can be added for an additional fee.

Do you offer multi-day charters?

We have a number of select vessels that offer 1 to 7-day+ term charters. If chartering out of the country, please double-check that everyone in the group has a valid passport. A 35 percent APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is collected for expenses such as fuel, docking, meals, and beverages. Remaining funds can be refunded or used for crew gratuity.

Do you offer overnight charters?

Yes, we offer overnight charters on select boats. Contact us for more information on pricing and availability.

Do you accept cash?

We do accept cash at boarding, but we always require a deposit of $1,000 via Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, or wire/ACH.

Is crew gratuity included?

Tips are not included. They can be paid directly to the crew. Our crew goes the extra mile; typical gratuity ranges from 10 to 20 percent.

What is your cancellation policy?

Due to the nature of yacht charters, they are non-refundable, but we offer a one-time reschedule. Our "rain check" policy covers rescheduling due to schedule conflicts or inclement weather. Rain check charters are redeemable for up to 3 months from the contracted charter date and are conditional on availability and exclude major and local holidays.

What is the 12-person rule on a yacht?

Under U.S. Coast Guard regulations, any vessel carrying more than 12 passengers must be a specially inspected passenger vessel, a much stricter classification. For that reason, most private charter yachts cap guest counts in this range; our yachts host up to 13 guests. If you have a larger group, contact us and a charter specialist will advise on options.

How many people aboard are allowed?

We have a few options for various group sizes. First are our yachts, which max out at groups of 13. If you're looking for the typical luxury yacht charter experience, this would be your choice. This is a USCG (United States Coast Guard) law that applies to all yacht vessels.

Can we bring food and alcoholic beverages?

You're more than welcome to bring food and drinks. We recommend ready-made foods so you enjoy uninterrupted time on the water. We also offer catering, chef service, and can accommodate dockside restaurant add-ons. Please omit red wine and any glass products; large liquor bottles are allowed.

What's included in your charters?

Each charter includes complimentary water, sodas and ice plus any amenities onboard each yacht individually. All our yachts have the necessary essentials like cups, cutlery, towels, and sunscreen.

Do you offer toy rentals?

Yes. Available add-ons include water slides, seabobs, trampolines, e-foils, e-surfboards, jetskis, and more.

Can we play our own music?

Yes, feel free to bring your favorite playlist and device. You can listen via Bluetooth.

Can we bring our kids?

Kids are welcome, however children must be supervised by an adult from the charter party at all times. While a vessel is underway, children under the age of 13 are required by law to wear a life jacket. Please share ages with a charter specialist so we can supply proper life vests.

Can I bring my pet?

Small pets are permited with a refundable security deposit of $500 for boats ≤50ft and $1,000 for boats ≥51ft.

Can I smoke on your yachts?

Smoking is not permitted aboard YCN vessels. Vape products that do not produce an open flame may be allowed at the crew's discretion, so please ask your captain first. Illegal substances are prohibited, and failure to comply will result in termination without a refund.

What's required for jetski rentals?

Operating a PWC (personal watercraft) in Florida waters requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 to have a valid license. You can apply for a free license online at boatus.org/florida.

What are your operating hours for boat charters?

We offer boat charters 7 days a week, from 9am to 10pm. Contact us for availability outside these hours.

Can I speak to an agent?

We're here during our normal business hours of 9am to 10pm daily, and via SMS or WhatsApp at (305) 209-5377.

Can you pick us up?

Standard procedure is to depart and return to the same port (marina/dock) due to local laws. On occasion, for an extra fee, we may be able to pick up customers from their home or a nearby dock, with a landing fee if applicable. Please inquire with a charter specialist to see if pickup is an option for your charter.

What happens if it rains?

Because Miami is tropical, it may rain here and there but will be sunny for the majority of the day, so don't worry. If you must reschedule due to weather, you may. Rain check charters are redeemable for up to 3 months from the contracted charter date, conditional on availability, and exclude major and local holidays.

What happens if I'm running late?

We will not extend your charter past the contracted end time if you arrive late; the charter officially begins at the contracted start time. We recommend arriving no more than 15 minutes early. If the vessel is available to extend and you choose to, a price adjustment can be made.
